The latest innovation from PBS and one of the trendiest products in the footwear industry: we’re talking about the sock-shoe, an innovative shoe chosen by many for its great comfort without giving up an exclusive style.
The idea of the sock-shoe was born from extensive market research and close attention to emerging trends, combined with careful analysis of existing models. From research we moved on to production: we embraced the concept and, thanks to our collaboration with hosiery manufacturers, created something truly new and cutting-edge.
Specifically, the sock-shoe is made with a knitted upper (typical of sock manufacturers), while the sole is produced using our innovative technology in microporous material and cork agglomerate.
During the process, a hollow is molded into the product to provide greater stability to both the sock and the upper: this gives the sock-shoe the typical characteristics of a sneaker.
Our sock-shoe can be made with microporous and cork agglomerate and is suitable for all seasons: it can be worn in both summer and winter. The sole is adaptable all year round, and the upper can be adjusted accordingly—for example, using wool fabrics for colder months.
Together with our suppliers, we are also testing biodegradable and recycled materials, which naturally decompose within five years and are made exclusively with natural materials and glues.
We’ve chosen this path because we believe it’s the right one to safeguard our planet.
This is an innovative product because, contrary to what one might think, the sock-shoe does not come in just one model or material: thanks to a high degree of customization, we create completely bespoke models without using molds. This is a major advantage that allows us to maintain the quality of Made in Italy, which is an essential value—especially today.
Customization is a key word for us. Each product is crafted with sartorial care: it can be produced in different heights and shaped according to the client’s foot. Color is also fully customizable, and all of this is possible while staying true to the technology we use for sole production.
In the footwear market, the sock-shoe is becoming increasingly popular—not only in fashion, but also in the healthcare sector: thanks to the hypoallergenic fabrics, doctors and nurses are choosing them over traditional clogs in hospitals.
Lastly, it’s also making its way into indoor footwear: many people choose the sock-shoe as a comfortable house slipper, perfect for the colder months.
